Faith Lutheran Church Religious and Charitable Endowment Fund
Endowment purpose: This fund’s purpose is to receive gifts and bequests and use them for the further growth of our church, the mission and ministry of Faith Lutheran Church and School. A secondary purpose, based on donor intent, may be to advance the mission and ministry of the The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, its’ districts, seminaries, colleges, institutions, or agencies.
Grant request guidelines: The Endowment Committee will review fund requests from: 1) a recognized group from the congregation, 2) a staff member of the church or school, 3) a committee or board of the congregation, 4) an officer of the Church Council, 5) or by motion of the Voter’s Assembly of the congregation. The Endowment Committee will review grant requests and make recommendations to the Church Council for approval by a simple majority of the Voter’s Assembly. Examples of grant requests include a new ministry program or project, something to enrich a current project or program, or uplift and support the professional staff of the church and school. The request can not be an item covered under the church’s annual budget.
Grant process: The Endowment Committee will request grants twice a year, in March and September, for review in April and October. Download the grant application, request one from the office or a committee member. Applications need to have a clear plan and time line. Describe the financial need to support your request. Attach any estimates the committee should be aware of. Email or turn your application into the office.
Examples of past approved grants: Playground equipment/fencing, chancel Christmas tree, school soccer jerseys, hymnals, Bibles, landscaping, office software updates, science torso for school, paraments, security system, small kitchen oven, attendance kiosks and many more. Endowment funds have enhanced many areas of ministry in the church and school.
